We are thrilled to welcome Marakame Eusebio and Eugenio, esteemed figures in their community as a Medicine Man and musician/community leader, respectively. Eusebio and Eugenio hail from a lineage deeply rooted in reverence for Grandfather Fire, Nature Spirits, the Cosmos, and Mother Earth.

Origins: The origins of the Wixarika people are shrouded in mystery, with some scholars suggesting independence from pre-Hispanic empires. However, according to Wixarika lore, their origin lies in the sacred place of Teakata, where Grandfather Fire first ignited life, followed by the emergence of other sacred beings and elements. Despite the challenges of modern development, the Wixarika culture remains resilient, preserving millennia-old traditions of healing with sacred plants, energy, and songs. Their cosmovision, adorned with vibrant myths and legends, infuses every aspect of their lives and ceremonies held throughout the year.
